The itinerary includes a stop in Positano, renowned for being a "vertical town" nestled into the mountainside. When viewed from the "big beach", its layout resembles a Christmas tree. The village boasts narrow streets, numerous shortcuts, stairs, and charming shops.

The second destination, depending on traffic conditions, may be either Amalfi or Ravello.

Historically, Amalfi holds significant importance as the foremost city along the coast, to the extent that the entire coastline is named after it. Founded by the Romans, Amalfi later became one of the four major maritime republics, alongside Genoa, Pisa, and Venice. Its zenith occurred between the ninth and eleventh centuries, during which it functioned as a Grand Duchy and even minted its own currency, known as the "Tarì".

Amalfi is also renowned for its contribution to the paper industry, and visitors can explore the Amalfi Paper Museum. The Cathedral of Sant'Andrea, a marvel in Romanesque-Baroque style dating back to the eleventh century, adds to the town's cultural richness.

Now famous for its prestigious music festival, Ravello has attracted numerous celebrities over the years. Situated 350 meters above sea level and established in the fifth century as a refuge from barbarian invasions, Ravello served as a muse for various renowned figures. Notably, the German musician Richard Wagner drew inspiration from this village for his opera "Parsifal". Even in the 1940s, figures like Greta Garbo spent part of their lives here.

Aside from its musical heritage, Ravello stands out as the most aesthetically pleasing destination on the Amalfi Coast, offering breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere despite its popularity among tourists. Key attractions include Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone.

Our first destinations include Montepertuso and Nocelle, situated on the hills overlooking Positano.

Montepertuso, whose name means "mountain with a hole", is steeped in legend. According to the tale, there was a confrontation between the devil and the Madonna, in which the Madonna emerged victorious. With a single gesture, she created the hole in the mountain, causing the devil to fall dead.

Nocelle, a tranquil ancient hamlet near Positano, is nestled 400 meters above sea level, providing peaceful views amidst terraced hillsides. Historically, Nocelle held a strategic position for monitoring the coastal territory against pirate raids. Today, it offers stunning views and serves as a starting point for numerous hiking trails, including the popular "Sentiero degli Dei" (Path of the Gods) and other scenic routes showcasing the entire Amalfi Coast.

Passing through Praiano, we cannot miss a stop in the neighborhood of San Luca. The area in front of San Luca Church offers unparalleled beauty with flower-filled gardens, a picturesque coastline, and the azure sea. Unlike other villages along the Amalfi Coast, Praiano lacks a central gathering point, but its churches, piazzas, and narrow roads strung along the coastline reveal charming secrets to those willing to get lost.

To conclude our tour, near the town of Ravello, lies the oldest city on the Amalfi Coast – Scala. Located 350 meters above sea level, Scala was founded by Roman shipwreck survivors en route to Constantinople (modern-day Istanbul). Comprising five small hamlets, Scala provides panoramic views of the city of Ravello below. Noteworthy for being the birthplace of Gerardo Sasso, a Christian monk who founded the Order of the Knights of Malta, Scala exudes tranquility with its slow rhythms, essential shops, a couple of drugstores, a few bars and restaurants, a pharmacy, and various churches, including the Gothic-Baroque-style cathedral of San Lorenzo and the church of the Santissima Annunziata in the Dragone valley, featuring frescoes dating back to the ninth century in Byzantine style.
